Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Members of the Managing Committee of�Mysore Race Club
Limited, I have great pleasure in extending a warm welcome to all of
you to
this PRESS CONFERENCE.
1. The Mysore Races 2011
will commence on Thursday, 18th August, 2011 and conclude on
Sunday, 23rd October, 2011.�20 days of racing
will be conducted and
the races will be held mainly on Thursdays and Fridays.
2. Stake Money:
The advertised stake money for
Mysore Races 2011 has been increased by 10% on an average for all the category and
the total advertised
stake money is Rs.5,37,50,275 including cups.�The
category wise distribution of stakes is as under:

3. Racing:
35 Bangalore based Trainers and
18 Mysore based Trainers will participate in the ensuing season.�Outstation
Trainers are also
expected to participate in this season.� Jockeys licensed by
Bangalore Turf Club Ltd., as well as Jockeys of other centres will
be
participating in Mysore Races 2011.� About 450 Mysore based horses along with
Bangalore based horses are expected to
participate during the meeting.
4. Sponsorship:
i) The Poonawalla Mysore
Derby 2011 (Grade I) will be sponsored by M/s Poonawalla Stud Farms as done
last year with an
added money of Rs.30 Lakhs inclusive of Club`s contribution
of Rs.15 Lakhs and an equal amount added by the sponsor. The total
stakes is
expected to be above Rs.75 Lakhs and the winner is expected to get about Rs.44
Lakhs as on date.
ii) The Khushro K
Jalnawala Mysore Million (Grade III) will be sponsored by Mr.Khushro
K Jalnawala. The added money
has been increased to Rs.20 Lakhs inclusive of
Club`s contribution of Rs.10 Lakhs and an equal amount added by the sponsor
and
a trophy value Rs.50,000/- presented by the Club.

iii) The Karnataka Racehorse Owners
Association Mysore 1000 Guineas 2011 (Grade III) will be sponsored by Karnataka
Racehorse Owners Association with an added money of Rs.20 Lakhs inclusive of
Club`s contribution of Rs.13 lakhs and Rs.7 Lakhs
contributed by the sponsor
and a trophy value Rs.50,000/- presented by the Club.
iv) The Fernhills Palace Mysore 2000
Guineas 2011 (Grade III) will be sponsored by M/s Maheshore Heritage Palaces,
Resorts & Spas Pvt. Ltd., with an added money of Rs.20 Lakhs including
Club�s contribution of Rs.10 lakhs and an
equal amount added by the sponsor and
a trophy value Rs.50,000/- presented by the Club and the sponsor (Rs.25,000
each).
5. The following two
races have been granted the Grade III status from the ensuing season and
onwards.
a) The Maharaja`s Cup
(Grade III) for horses aged 4 years old and over, distance (about) 1600 Metres with
an added money
of Rs.10 lakhs contributed by the Club and a trophy value
Rs.50,000 presented by the Club.
b) The Mysore Dasara
Sprint Championship (Grade III) for horses aged 3 years old and over, distance
(about)
1200 Metres with an added money of Rs.10 Lakhs contributed by the Club
and a trophy value Rs.50,000 presented by the Club.

General:
- With timely rainfall the track
has been maintained with utmost care and the underfoot condition is expected to
be
good throughout the season.
- About 150 Betting Terminals will
be in operation for the season.
-Rate of admission will be
Rs.10/- for all days.

- As usual, the Tipsters Tally Trophy
will be given for Mysore Races 2011 to the publication which gives the
maximum
number of winners for the season.�The rules can be obtained from the office.
