MYSORE RACE CLUB LTD.
Only horses which arrive at M.R.C.Ltd., prior to 7th November2011 and
are stabled at M.R.C.Ltd., are eligible to participate during Mysore Winter
Races 2011-12
a) The following horses are eligible to participate during the season
i) All horses based in Karnataka upto 7 years.
ii) Outstation horses aged up to 6 years rated 40 and above which
arrive before the above said date.
b) The following horses are not eligible to participate during the season
Horses aged 5 years old and over rated below zero
However horses which cross the specified age limit on 01-01-12 will be eligible
to participate till conclusion of the said meeting
c) The following horses are not eligible to participate during the
Mysore Summer Races 2012
Horses rated below zero.
All terms races for 2 years old in 2011 and 3 years old in 2012 are confined
to horses which have been stabled in the premises of Mysore Race Club Ltd.,
on or prior to 31st October 2011
Concessions to Owners and 'A' Licence Trainers (Mysore) for the period 1st
April 2011 to 31st March 2012 published in the Prospectus of Mysore Summer Races
2011 will hold good
ALLOTMENT OF STABLES ETC.
a) Special attention is invited to General Conditions 1,2,4,6,7, 10 and 18
b) To avoid inconvenience, Owners and Trainers are requested to place a deposit with
the Secretary sufficent to cover every liability for the Meeting
c) Owners and Trainers who require stables should apply to the Secretary, Mysore
Winter Races, for reservation of Stables
d) Stables allotted to a particular Trainer/Owner must be occupied by horses in his
charge. Stables allotted and not occupied must be released to the Club and must
not be sublet
e) The Club accepts no responsibility for any damage to horses,employees or property
whilst occupying these stables or within the premises
f) The Stewards reserve to themselves the right to add, amend, vary or rescind
any of the terms offerred above at any time even during validity of the above offer
g) The interpretation of any condition stated above will rest solely with the Stewa-
rds of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., and their decision shall be final and binding
h) Such of those Owners who own either wholy or partly 15 or more racehorses based in
Mysore are not eligible to participate in the above meeting.
i) The interpretation of any condition stated above will rest solely with the Stewards
of the Mysore Race Club Ltd., and their decision shall be final and binding
NO ENTRY FEE OR FORFEIT WILL BE CHARGED IN ALL RACES EXCEPT SWEEPSTAKES RACES. HOWEVER,
SERVICE CHARGES WILL BE LEVIED AS UNDER :
(i) @ 1% of stakes to the Winner in case the entry is made only for one race
during the week/day
(ii) @ 2% of stakes to the Winner in each race in case the entry is made for
more than one race during the week/day
(iii) No service charge will be levied in case the horse is accepted to run in
any race irrespective of whether the entry was made for one or more races
during the week/day, subject to (iv) below.
(iv) Service charge will be levied @ 2% of the stakes to the Winner for horses
entered, accepted and withdrawn on any other ground except on Veterinary
ground or for fractious behaviour at the starting gates at the time of
starting in which case no service charge will be levied.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. All persons taking part in Mysore Winter Races 2011-12 shall be bound by the
Rules of Racing of the B.T.C. and notifications issued from time to time in
the B.T.C. Racing Calendar and such regulations as may be laid down by the
Stewards of the Meeting from time to time.
2.(a) Unless already registered under B.T.C., R.C.T.C., R.W.I.T.C., M.R.C., or H.R.C.
Rules, horses must be registered under these rules and apply for allotment of
rating to the Secretary, B.T.C. Ltd., atleast two days prior to the date fixed
for closing of entries for the respective race days, otherwise entries will be
refused.
(b) When applying for allotment of rating of a horse under B.T.C. Rules of Racing,
the applicant must state the date on which and the Centre where the horse last
raced. If the horse has never raced before, the clause 'NEVER RACED' as well
as age and sex of the horse must be stated in the application.
3.(a) No horse shall be entered in any race other than those for which it is eligib-
le unless, otherwise mentioned in the conditions of the race
(b) Horses which have raced at the Meetings other than those conducted under the
B.T.C.Rules of Racing subsequent to allotment of rating by the Handicapper,
Mysore Races, must be allotted the rating again by the Handicapper, Mysore Races
prior to entry for Handicap races under these rules. Entries of any horse for a
handicap race for which application for allotment of rating has not been
received may be refused or cancelled.
(c) In the event of a horse having raced at a meeting other than under B.T.C.Rules
of Racing subsequent to its having been entered for a Handicap race under
B.T.C.Rules, the entries of such horse will be void.
(d) In the event of a horse having raced at a meeting other than under the B.T.C.
Rules of Racing subsequent to having been handicapped under B.T.C. Rules, such
horse shall be withdrawn from the race even after having been handicapped or
accepted.
4. Before a horse is allowed to start in a race for the first time under B.T.C.
Rules of Racing, such horse must be produced before the Club's Veterinary Off-
icer for Identification. The responsibility of obtaining a copy of certificate
of Identity rests with the Owner or the Trainer concerned.
5.(a) The dates and times at which forfeits/scratchings are advertised to fall due
are liable to alteration after closing of entries should circumstances arise,
which in the opinion of the Stewards make it desirable. All horses accepting
i.e., 'left-in' after the time fixed for final forfeits/scratchings must be
declared to start unless prior permission for their withdrawal has been obtai-
ned from the Stewards. No horse shall be accepted to participate in more than
one race on the same day or the following days and when handicaps for two or
more days are published on the same day no horse shall be accepted to partici-
pate in more than one race during those two or more days.
(b) In the event of a horse being 'left-in' for more than one race in contraventi-
on of the above rule the person responsible for it shall be fined not less
than Rs.1,000 but the owner of such horse shall be permitted to run such horse
in any one race of his choice.
6. Distances of all races are to be read ABOUT ...... Metres.
7. Owners, Trainers and Jockeys should make themselves familiar with Mysore Race
Club Track Rules.

8.(a) Unless accompanied by a remittance for the full amount of entrance fee entries
may be refused. If entries are not signed by the owner they must be accompani-
ed by a written authority from the owner to the enterer, unless such authority
has already been registered by the B.T.C. Ltd.
(b) In case of entry made by telegram, confirmation in writing and remittance must
be sent forthwith. No horse will be permitted to run unless entry money has
been paid.
(c) Entries should be made on official forms and correct details of all particul-
ars required in the form should be filled in.
9.(a) The full advertised prize will be given in every race except in the case of a
walkover when only half the advertised prize will be given in accordance with
rule.
(b) In races other than Sweepstakes, the stakes for the fourth, fifth and sixth
placed horses will be given provided there are eight, ten and twelve or more
actual runners respectively.
10.(a) The Stewards reserve the right to declare void any race in which there are
less than 12 entries in bona fide separate interests.
(b) If at the time of final forfeits there are less than EIGHT acceptors in bona
fide separate interests in any race, such race may be declared void at the op-
tion of the Stewards.
11.(a) The Stewards may arrange the entrants for any race into two or more divisions
and in handicaps adjust the weights of any division at their discretion. At
the time of final forfeits/scratchings the Stewards may further arrange for a
race, or a division thererof to be divided, on the basis of the weights publi-
shed. Races where the advertised stakes excluding value of cup, if any, to
the winner exceed stakes advertised for winner of category 60 & above will not
be divided.
(b) The Races will be divided entirely at the discretion of the Stewards and a
race with the minimum number of acceptors or more need not necessarily be div-
ided if in the opinion of the Stewards such a division will make the card for
the day unweildy.
(c) The number of races per day will be restricted to a maximum of
eight, at the option of the Stewards.

(d) If in any race other than a Sweepstakes Race:
(i) the acceptors exceed 12 but not 15, then the acceptors in execss of 12
will be eliminated by drawing lots amongst the horses belonging to
Trainer/s and Owner/s(i.e., in the same colours) who have accepted the
highest number of horses. If the number of horses eliminated are not
sufficient, lots will be drawn again amongst the horses belonging to
Trainer/s and Owner/s(i.e.,in the same colours) who have accepted the
next hightest number of horses. This process will be continued till
the required number of horses are eliminated or the number of horses
belonging to a Trainer/Owner reaches one, whichever is earlier.In case
of later, if it is required, the process of elimination will be conti-
nued by eliminating horses in the descending order of their age till
the required number of horses are eliminated.
(ii) If the acceptors exceed 15 but not 24 the race will be divided into two
divisions at the option of the Stewards.
(iii) If the acceptors exceed 24, then acceptors in excess of 24 will be eli-
minated as per the procedure detailed above and the race will be divided
into two divisions at the option of the Stewards.
(e) If in a Sweepstakes race the acceptors exceed 16,the additional acceptors will
be rejected by eliminating the horses which have earned the lowest aggregate
stakes after 31st March, 2009. In case of a tie rejection shall be by drawing lots.
Only the final forfeit in respect of horses eliminated from these
races will be refunded.
(f) A Horse rejected from a race shall not be excluded by rejection when it has
been accepted the next time.
(g) The entry fee and forfeit, if any, in respect of horses eliminated from races
other than the Sweepstakes will be refunded.
(h) In case a horse is 'left-in' in a race, where additonal acceptors are likely to
be eliminated, the same horse may be 'left-in' for any other race on the same
day with a note on the scratching form that it will be effective if the said
horse is not eliminated from the other race for which the additional acceptors
are likely to be eliminated. Similarly, a horse may be 'left-in' in a race with
a note on the scratching form that it will be effective if the race in question
is not divided. Similarly, a horse may be `left-in' in a race with a note on the
scratching form to accept the horse in question, if the other said race is dec-
lared void
(i) If any other condition not stipulated in clause (h) above is attached to the
scratching, such condition shall be ignored.
12. The prizes for lower divisions, if any, will be same as for the first division,
except that Cups or Value of Cups will not be paid for lower divisions.
13. The Stewards reserve the right to refuse an entry or to cancel an accepted entry
at any time without assigning a reason.
14.(a) The Stewards reserve the right to amend or to alter the conditions of any race
at any time before the first entry closes and to alter the name of any race
after closing of entries and to increase/decrease the advertised stakes for
any race prior to final forfeits/scratching.
(b) The Stewards reserve the right to indicate any race/s to be ridden by Indian
Jockeys only at the time of publication of acceptance.

15. In all handicaps the lowest weight to be carried shall not be less than 50 kgs.,
excluding the allowance which a Jockey may claim if applicable. However, the han-
dicaps may be framed down to weights below 50 kgs.
16. A winner of a Race after publication of weights shall carry 5 kgs.,extra for each
win provided it is otherwise eligible.
17. (a) Minimum top weight in a Handicap race will be 60 kgs. Unless otherwise speci-
fied, if the highest weight an acceptor has to carry is less than 60 kgs., it
shall be raised to 60 kgs., and the other weights shall be raised equally.
(b) Unless otherwise specified, if the highest weight an acceptor has to carry in
a Terms Race is less than 55 kgs.,it shall be raised to 55 kgs.,and the other
weights shall be raised equally.
18. Unless TERMS are specified, the races are HANDICAP races.
19. No horse shall carry more than 2 kgs., overweight in any race, except with per-
mission of the Stewards, if the horse is ridden by a Jockey who is either not en-
titled to claim an allowance or cannot claim an allowance under the conditions of
the race. However, in case a horse is ridden by a Jockey claiming an allowance it
shall not carry except with the permission of the Stewards, more than 2 kgs.,in
excess of the weight which it would have carried if the Jockey in question had
claimed in full the allowance to which he was entitled. Such permission must be
obtained before the COMMON STARTING DECLARATION BOX is opened.
20. In Terms races without panalities, the weights to be carried by the horses will
be published in the Handicaps. However, in Terms races with penalities the
weights to be carreid by the horses will be published directly in the Acceptances.
21.Unless otherwise specified the starting declaration to be made by the Owner, the
Trainer or the Authorised Agent in respect of all the horses for all the races
(for all consecutive days' races) must be placed in the COMMON STARTING
DECLARATION BOX not later than date & time published in day's programme in
Prospectus
The declaration must be in writing on the Official form and must state the name
of the race, name of the horse, weight to be carried, the name of the Jockey, and
must be accompanied by the Jockey's fee for a losing mount, if not already paid
and any other fees due. It shall also state if the horse is running shod or unsh-
od. If the former, it shall state the description of the shoes, plates or tips
used. Omission or errors in the starting declaration will render the Owner or the
person making it liable to a fine at the discretion of the Stewards.
22.(a) Indian Jockeys below 25 years of age and apprentices shall be entitled to cla-
im the following allowance in any handicap flat race:
Not having ridden 10 winners 4 Kgs.
Having ridden 10 winners but not 20 winners 3 Kgs.
Having ridden 20 winners but not 30 winners 2 Kgs.
Having ridden 30 winners but not 40 winners 1 Kg.
No allowance can be claimed after having ridden 40 winners or after attaining
the age of 25 years whichever is earlier. Notwithstanding the above, a Jockey
reaching the specified limit of wins as stated above will still be entitled
for the allowance originally declared provided the betting for such a race has
already opened.

(b) No rider shall ride in any race, unless he is wearing a skull cap of a pattern
approved by the Stewards.
23. Horses will not be allowed to be led down to the start in advance of the remaind-
er of the field except in very exceptional circumstances which must be explained
to the satisfaction of the Stewards in writing, atleast one clear day before the
date on which the horse is due to start.
24.(a) Colours must be declared with entries unless already registered under B.T.C.
Rules of Racing. Where colours are not registered a delcaration must be made
of colours to be used, at or prior to the time for closing of forfeits/scratc-
hings for that day, otherwise a fine may be imposed.
(b) If there be more than one horse of any one Owner 'left-in' in a Race a differ-
ent colour cap must be declared for each horse.
(c) Every person running a horse in colours other than those registered or declar-
ed as above, may be fined.
(d) In the event of a person being unable to run a horse in colours as declared in
the Official Race Card the Jockey will wear 'ALL BLACK'. A set of these colou-
rs may be obtained from the Clerk of the Scales.
25.(a) An Owner's pass which is not transferable will be issued for the meeting to
those whose horses are entered for the meeting. Only one Owner's pass will be
given to Joint Owners.
(b) Trainers and Jockeys must obtain their passes from the Race Club Office, with-
out which they will not be permitted to enter the enclosures.
(c) Rules in connection with the issue of passes to Riding Boys, Servants, Farrie-
rs and Syces may be obtained from the Race Club Office.
(d) Application for all passes should be made during working hours on non race
days.
26. All telegrams must be confirmed by letters and all communications must be addres-
sed to the Secretary, Mysore Winter Races and not to any one by name
